With great sadness, the family of William (Bill) Yerama, of North Vancouver, BC announce his passing on October 19, 2024, after a courageous battle, succumbing to cancer at the age of 73.
He was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Julia Yerama of Gilbert Plains, MB; sister Eileen Gallinger of Toronto; brothers Lloyd, Jerry and Sydney of Dauphin, MB and Edwin. He is survived by brothers, Dave (Betty) of Carmen, Lyle (Maureen) of Spruce Grove, AB, Ken of Winnipeg; sisters Jane of Winnipeg, Lorraine Gulenchin of Dauphin, Naomi (Doug) Mahoney of Brandon, Linda Grant (Brian Wallwin) of Surrey, BC; sisters-in-law Sandra and Gladys Yerama of Dauphin. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Bill was born in Dauphin, MB on December 11, 1950, and educated at Markham School and Gilbert Plains Collegiate. He moved to Thompson, MB after graduating from high school and was employed by INCO, Thompson, MB. His curling life was spent working for clubs in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver.
A private family service will take place at Chatsworth Cemetery in Gilbert Plains, MB at a later date.
