William Henry Wilson 1932-2020
The family is deeply saddened by the passing of our precious husband, Dad, Grandfather, brother & friend Bill on June 8, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
Bill was born in Portage la Prairie, MB to Cecil & Jean on February 16, 1932. Bill attended school in the Paulson District until Grade 9 and graduated from (DCTI) Dauphin High School in Dauphin.
Bill settled in Dauphin and married Lillian (Voelpel) in 1956. They were married 64 years and had 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
Bill worked as an area manager salesman for World Book , a security guard and farmed for many years. The career he was most proud of was correctional officer at Dauphin Correctional Institute for 30 years.
His outgoing, friendly personality made him a valued member of the community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife Lillian; daughter Laurie (Rodney); sons Ken (Leta), Don, Brad ( Shireen); grandchildren, Tricia (Jim), Brett & Alyssa, Melanie (Nathan), Brooke, Kenzie, Rob (Stacey), Riley, Haylie, Matthew (Jazz), Paige& Nathan, Michelle, Ryan (Randi), Jaxx, Alexxis, Noah, Kherri; brother Gordon (Joanna); sisters Pat (Stewart); many nieces and nephews, and many special foster children.
Predeceased by parents Cecil & Jean; brother Stuart & sister Helen; Sarah Sulieman, Bob Waldack.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses and staff at the Dauphin Hospital and Dauphin PCH.
