Walter Rostecki

Walter Edward Rostecki, 79, of Dauphin. Manitoba passed away on Sept. 3 2025.

He was the father of Connie, Greg and Sandra, and although our relationships with him were not always easy, we loved him as our dad. Life and family can be complicated, but he will always be a part of who we are.

While there were struggles and distance over the years, we choose to remember the bond of family that endures despite hardship. We grieve his passing and also the closeness that was never fully realized, yet we carry forward love for him in our own ways.

Walter is survived by his children Connie (Justin), Greg and Sandra. He was blessed with 10 grand children whom he loved very much, Whitney (David), Stephanie, Jessica(Colby), Vance, Keyara, Kaylee Branden, Bryanna, Brody and Brycen. He was also blessed with 7 great grand children, Audrina, Elaina, Odin, Wyatt, Cohen, Jacob and Oliver.

He was also survived by his sisters, Helen (Doug), Darlene (Bill), Dolly (Jim), Joan, Mae (Alan) his brothers Marvin and Dennis (Linda) and his brothers in law Slowko Chubka and Johnn Tichon.

Walter was predeceased by his parents Olga and Edward Rostecki and his sisters Elsie, Diane and Pearl. 

Walter grew up in Southbay area. He received his heavy duty mechanic certificate in Brandon, MB in June of 1970. Moved back to Southbay area to farm where the children were raised. Walter worked many jobs to provide for his family. But the farm was home, he worked hard and loved his morning coffee. 

He will be remembered by many and truly missed by those who knew him. 

A Come and Go Tea was held for Walter on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Center Reception Room.
