Velma Fletcher

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Velma Fletcher (nee Roy) on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre at the age of 76 years. 
Velma was born on August 26, 1943 to Thomas and Lillian Roy.  She received her education in the McCreary area.  On September 3, 1960, Velma married William "Ralph" Fletcher.
They had six children, son, Tom and his children, Amanda (Calvin) and Abbey; son, Tim and his son, Gage; son, Shawn (Jody) and their children, Taylor, Cameron and Courtney; son, Kirk and his children, Amber (Clint), Garrett, Dawson and Chloe; daughter, Dana (Francis) and their children, Wade and Damon; son, Rick (Marlene) and their children, Cassidy, Victoria, Josh, Hailee and Oksana along with her great grandchildren, Summer, Archer, Micha, Amos and Ophiliea.
Velma also leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Dolly Ross; her brother, Dewey Roy (Coreen); her sister-in-law, Charol Roy; her sister-in-law, Audrey Mclaughlin (Martin); her brother-in-law, Don Fletcher (Doris); her brother-in-law, Jack Fletcher; her sister-in-law, Doris Herkindale (Rick) along with numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends. 
Our family would like to say a big thank you to Dauphin CancerCare & Palliative Care for the wonderful care and support they gave our mother and our family.

We've shared throughout the years. 
Now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing that I passed along the way
I made somebody smile. 
When you are walking down the street
and you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind. 
So please don't be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight
Remember that I'm with you
Each morning, noon and night. 
 

A memorial service for Velma was held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the McCreary Community Centre in McCreary.  

Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Velma to the CancerCare Community Program in Dauphin c/o the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation
