Obituary

It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Tyler Robert Hess announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the age of 38 years.
Tyler was born in Dauphin, Manitoba to Robert and Diane (LeCunff) Hess, on April 4, 1984, just six weeks after his father’s passing. His mom suddenly became both mother and father and did an admirable job raising him and his brother Tyson. They were inseparable and were always there for each other.
Tyler attended Ste. Rose School and after graduation, he furthered his education at the University of Manitoba with a focus on the computer sciences. He then went on to Robertson College where he received a Diploma in Software and Data-Based Development. Computers were his passion, a passion that allowed him to excel in companies like Norwex, Core 49 and his most recent place of employment, The Peer Group.
In his youth, if Tyler was not conquering a video game, he could be found playing hockey, baseball, basketball or golf. Golf was the sport that he carried on into adulthood. He was a natural at the game, and it did not matter how much time he spent away from it, when he returned, he could still shoot a low score. The envy of many of his golfing friends.
In 2009, Tyler married Sandi Roach and they had two beautiful children, Dylan and Brookelynn, who were his pride and joy. Whether it was playing video games with Dylan or board games with Brookelynn, he always made time for them. Tyler’s love for the Toronto Maple Leafs wore off on Dylan and Brookelynn. During hockey season, they could be found perched on the couch, dressed in Maple Leaf gear, cheering on the Leafs. Even though Sandi and Tyler parted, they remained friends with a focus on raising their two wonderful children.
In 2017, Tyler’s work took him to Winnipeg. It was there where he met Melissa, with whom he spent the last few years of his short life. He and Melissa enjoyed watching sports, golfing, fishing and playing many card and board games together.
Tyler treasured time with family and friends. His greatest joy was bringing a smile to someone’s face. He had a kind and gentle soul and treated others with compassion and would do anything for you. Tyler will be remembered for his love of his children, his family and friends.
Tyler was predeceased by his dad, Robert Wayne Hess in 1984, his grandpa Marcel LeCunff in 1990, his grandma Roberta Hess in 2007 and his Auntie Debra Hess in 1978. He is in loving hands, surrounded by those who have gone before him.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Dylan and Brookelynn; his mother, Diane Hess and stepfather, Vern Tocher; brother, Tyson (Jess) Hess and nephews Nicholas and Chael; friend and mother of his children, Sandi Hess; his partner, Melissa Stein; his grandma, Lucille LeCunff; his grandpa, Wayne Hess and partner Bernice Drysdale; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
