Trevor Robert Halwas
(March 17, 1965 – October 31, 2025)
Trevor Robert Halwas, 60, of Inglis, Manitoba, passed away on October 31, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle faced with remarkable strength and determination.
Born in Russell, Manitoba, on March 17, 1965, Trevor was the son of the late Robert (Bob) and Donna Halwas. After graduating from high school, he pursued a career as a heavy duty mechanic and later became a certified plumber. In 1997, he took over the family farm, where he worked diligently until 2019.
Trevor will be remembered for his resilience and the deep love he had for his family, his farm, and the small-town community life that meant so much to him. He was known for his hard work, practical common sense, and love of adventure—especially sledding in the winter, riding his side-by-side, and quading during the summer months. The outdoors was where he found peace and joy.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Donna Halwas. Trevor is survived by his beloved wife, Gillian; his stepsons, Brady Potter and Dreyson (Jasper) Potter; and his grandson, Boston. He is also survived by his brother, Shawn, and brother- and sister-in-laws Jason Osicki, Darin (Stacey) Osicki, Randal Osicki, Erik (Erica) Osicki, and Wade (Amanda) Osicki, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him deeply.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Russell Community Cancer Care, Russell Palliative Care, Russell Health Centre, Russell Home Care Team, Russell Clinic, Reavie’s Pharmacy Team, and all friends and family for their care, support, and kindness throughout Trevor’s journey.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
