Terry Rempel Obituary

It saddens our hearts to announce the sudden passing of our son Terence George Rempel, age 48 on May 11, 2025 in Ashern, Manitoba.

Terry was born at the Dauphin General Hospital on March 26, 1977. He was the beloved son of George Rempel and Heather Hogg, and stepson of Mary Rempel and Harold Hogg. Terry grew up as a free spirit on the farm and enjoyed playing hockey and Ukrainian dancing. He attended the Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School, graduating in 1995. Furthering his education, Terry attended Reimer Trucking Driving School and followed in his fathers’ footsteps and became a Semi Driver doing both short and long hauls across Canada and the USA.

Terry was an avid sports fan and loved watching Nascar, hockey, and football both live and on TV as much as he could. If you knew Terry, you knew that he hated to have his photo taken and would often be seen turning his head or putting his hat over his face. But Terry had the most beautiful, biggest and best smile! He loved his jokes, having fun, dancing and his sugary sweets! – Boy did Terry have a sweet tooth!

Enjoying a change of scenery, Terry worked and resided in several communities throughout the three prairie provinces continuing to increase his experience by working for several trucking companies. Whenever Terry was on the road passing through a town where he knew someone lived, he’d pick up the phone and try to stop in for a hello. Whether in their living room, or having lunch at a random truck stop diner, Terry made sure to reach out to those he cared about to catch up.

At the time of his passing, Terry finally found his roots and settled in Ashern, MB, with his love and best friend, Christie.

Terry is survived by his four beautiful children, Cassidy (16), Sapphyre (12), Zeyne (10) & Zyla (8). His father George (Mary) Rempel, his mother Heather (Harold) Hogg. His loving partner Christie and her daughter Renae. His sisters Catharina and Cathleen. His step siblings, Trina, Julie, Nathan, Marti, Sandra and Ty and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom  he adored.

A celebration of Terry’s life was held on Sunday May 25, 2025 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at the Stride Place Sports Complex in the multi purpose room at 245 Royal Rd in Portage la Prairie, MB.
