Terry Beattie Obituary

It is with regret and sadness that we announce that Terry died peacefully in his sleep.

Terry was born in Flin Flon, MB to Walter and Arlette Beattie and was raised in Snow Lake, MB until the mid 70’s when the family moved to Swan River, MB.  After graduation Terry moved to Thompson, MB were he met his wife Nancy of 31 years.  They had two children, Whitney and Matthew.

Terry was a hard working man, sitting around was not an option.  He was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbours, friends, and family.  He was a jack of all trades and believed that prior to asking for help you “had to at least give it a valiant effort”.  Terry first started as a “bag boy” at the Hudson Bay in Snow Lake.  In high school he worked summers for the Town of Swan River, laying water pipes then yard maintenance at the cemetery.  After moving to Thompson he worked for Beaver Lumber before hiring on at the mine where he retired after 30 years.  After retiring to Grandview, MB he was hired on with the Town of Grandview and was a general labourer before becoming the landfill attendee until his passing.

Terry loved to snowmobile, fish, camp and later took up raising cattle.  Everything was an adventure for him.  If it wasn’t an adventure, he sure was to make it one.

Terry leaves to mourn his wife Nancy, daughter Whitney, son Matthew, and dogs Timber and Sadie. His brother Murray (Janet),  Sisters Karen, Debbie (Erhart), Darlene (Dalton), many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  He was predeceased by his father Walter, mother Arlette, Brother in Law Frank.

As per Terry’s wish, there will not be a funeral, but rather a true celebration of life once gatherings are able to take place.
