Tammy Biletski Obituary

Tammy Lynne Biletski

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 52, Tammy Lynne (Davey) Biletski of Brandon, MB and formerly of Rorketon passed away following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.

Mourning her loss is Linus, her husband of 27 years, her daughters Jessica and Joelene (Dayne), her son Jason (Sabrina) and her parents Betty (Boe) and Bryan Reid, her brother Mark (Kyla), her niece Calli and her nephew Cole, her mother-in-law Sylvia Biletski, her sisters-in-law Carol (David), Arleen (Randy), Glenda (Perry), Julie (Tony), Tammie (Winston), her brothers-in-law Richard (Kristeen) and Dennis (Bonnie) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and Douglas Davey.

Tammy was predeceased by her aunt Sharon, her father-in-law Nicholas, her nephew Tyson, and her grandparents Arnie (Jeanette) and Gordon (Freda).

Tammy Lynne was born on June 19, 1971, in Lynn Lake, MB. She went to school at West Lynn Heights and graduated high school in 1989. She had many friends and different jobs in Lynn Lake such as the Dairy Bar, curling club canteens and babysitting for different families around town. She also liked to party especially at the annual hat parties in Lynn Lake.

That September, Tammy moved to Winnipeg, attended Red River Community College, and obtained an electrical drafting certificate that June. She then moved to Thompson, MB and her first job there was at Norwest Do It Center in contract sales where she started her obsession of house plans and layouts. Tammy was then recruited by Home Hardware Building Center where she met her future husband Linus Biletski, and they started dating in March of 1993.  They were married on August 31, 1996, in Rorketon on a very hot +35 fall day.  Tammy worked at Home Hardware until they moved in late December 1997 to Rorketon to start their family. Jessica was born in March of 1998, Joelene in September of 1999, and Jason in October of 2001. That same year they built their beautiful home that Tammy and Linus built in the Moose Bay area.

Tammy’s children and home were her pride and joy! They made many memories as a family which she documented so well with all her pictures and scrapbooks. She was very community minded – involved with 4H, Ukrainian dancing and all the activities the children were involved in. Tammy worked at the Rorketon District Credit Union, and then moved on to Fusion Credit Union and RBC in Dauphin until she received a diagnosis of terminal cancer on June 2, 2022.

Tammy and Linus sold their beautiful farmhouse in October 2022 and moved to Brandon to be closer to their children and her mom and dad who lived six houses away. One of Tammy’s last requests was to have a white kitchen. Since the house they bought did not have one, Tammy designed and laid out her new kitchen and they completed it together before she had radiation treatments and was placed in palliative care in September of 2023.

Tammy took many pictures of their family trips to Newfoundland, Toronto, Disneyworld Florida, Minneapolis, MB, the Black Hills, beautiful British Columbia and the Prairies.  She had many fond memories as a child and adult visiting Auntie Sharon’s farm with her cousins Sandy and Randy. Tammy enjoyed the girl’s weekends away at Clear Lake with her childhood friends from Lynn Lake.

Tammy claimed to be Ukrainian by marriage and loved the culture, food and dance while attending many Ukrainian festivals in Dauphin, Brandon, Yorkton, and Russell. In August of 2018, Tammy travelled to Ukraine with her daughter Joelene to watch her dance in an international festival. Tammy always said she was not a good cook, but man, could she make a good meal. She was very artsy and crafty and was not scared to try anything.
