Sylvia Nancy Carolyn (Pascal) Kotyk

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sylvia Kotyk (Pascal) on October 30, 2023, surrounded by her family.
The sun rose and the world welcomed Sylvia on January 12, 1946, a day the world became a little brighter.  Sylvia lived a full and warm life, filled with joy, happiness and kindness.  Sylvia will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Carl and Stella Pascal.  She is survived by her 4 children, Angela Koytk of Kelowna, BC, Denise Erlendson (Dean) of Rapid City, MB, Donna Kotyk of Dauphin, MB, Alvin Kotyk (Nicole) of Drayton Valley, AB; as well as her grandchildren, Micheal, Ryan, Chloe, Hailey, Alyssa, Reid and Parker.
Sylvia was born in Dauphin, MB.  She grew up in Fork River area where she attended elementary school, her freshman years were at the Winnipegosis Collegiate.  Sylvia was a quiet girl who enjoyed everything including homework.  Her pastime was spent doing embroidery, baking, gardening, animals, and farming.  Sylvia enjoyed cake decorating and took classes.  After that she decorated cakes for everyone.  Sylvia went on to be a full time Mom for her 4 kids and once they all grew up she pursued a career doing home care for over 20 years.  She retired from this career and lived her life to the fullest.
Special thanks to all the nurses on the 2nd floor and Dr. Mathison and Dr. McMullen for all the care they gave to mom and helping us through our time. Thank you to a very special friend Margaret Zurba who was a dear and close friend to mom.  Thanks also goes out to Father Oleg Bodnarski for the wonderful service he provided and to Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services for all the help and compassionate they gave during our hard times.

Funeral Service was held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Very Rev Father Oleg Bodnarski officiating.  Interment followed in Fork River Roman Catholic Cemetery c/o Josephine Bunka in Winnipegosis, MB.  Pallbearers were Michael Powell, Dean Erlendson, Wayne Cooper, Darrell Yarema.
