Steve Yahodynski Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Steve Yahodynski on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Roblin, MB at the age of 73 years.A husband, father, Gido, uncle and friend to all.
Steve was born July 30, 1946 in Russell, Manitoba beloved son of Mike Yahodynski and Emily Goba. Steve lived in the Zelena area with his two sisters, Bernice and Olga. He attended school in the Zelena area and then attended high school at Roblin Goose Lake High. When he finished high school he worked in Winnipeg at a bed making factory. Later on, he decided to come back to Roblin. He got a job at the Department of Highways where he remained employed for 33 years until retirement. Within this time, he met his beloved wife, Marie Martin. They were married July 20, 1974. They had their first child Derek on May 13, 1975 and daughter Stephanie on May 18, 1977.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Mike and Emily (nee Goba) Yahodynski; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Mabel (nee Chescu) Martin and sister, Bernice Laurie and brother-in-law, John Radford. Steve leaves behind wife, Marie; daughter, Stephanie and husband Darren; grandchildren, Jessie-Leigh, Kassidy and Kenzie; son, Derek, grandchildren, Jayda, Jayden and Kailyn; sister, Olga and husband Coolie Kostick; brother-in-law, Douglas Laurie; sister-in-law, Dorren Radford and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was a known story teller who  could often be seen sitting in the local coffee shop with friends catching up on the latest and never missed out on an opportunity to make cat noises, followed by a chuckle to arouse an audience. Over the last few years his health continued to decline and even with his limited vision, he still continued to live each day to the fullest. He continued to do what he could which was to have reason and purpose right until he was called away from us. It leaves the family with great comfort knowing he left this world with his independence and unique spirit.
