Stella Weselowski

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Stella Weselowski, who passed away peacefully at the Dauphin Personal Care Home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 90 years.

Stella was born on June 7, 1936, in Dauphin, Manitoba, to Fred and Ann Saramaga (née Chetyrbok). She attended Halicz School and grew up on the family farm in the Rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains. Following her graduation, she was employed at Mary Maxim in Sifton.

On June 5, 1955, Stella married Peter Weselowski, and together they made their home in Winnipeg. During her working years, she was employed by T&T Seeds and Willow Farm Foods. After Peter’s passing in 1994, Stella returned to Dauphin to be closer to her family.

Stella was a talented craftswoman who enjoyed braiding, embroidery, and sewing. She was a devoted member of St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, kind heart, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Stella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter Weselowski; her parents, Fred and Ann Saramaga; her brother, Stanley Saramaga; and her nephew, Mark Garlinski.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Olga Saramaga; her nephew, Albert (Cindy) Garlinski; her great-niece, Elisa (Wes) Wiebe; her great-great-nieces, Brynlee, Brielle, Scarlett, and Rebekah Wiebe, all of Selkirk; and by her many extended family members and friends, who will miss her dearly.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Stella’s memory may be made to St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
