Stella Sapach, age 89 years of Dauphin Manitoba, passed away peacefully at the Dauphin Personal Care Home on Friday, June 19th, 2020.
Stella was born in Dauphin, MB on December 10th, 1930 to William (Bill) and Lena (Kokolski) Kolsun. She was the eldest of four children. Following her education at the Valley River School, she worked on the family farm. Stella also worked at Bryce’s Bakery for a short period of time.
On October 16th, 1948 she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Sapach, who was her neighbour for years, at the Valley River Church. After marriage, they farmed in rural Dauphin where they raised their three children. In 1979 they retired from the farm and moved to Dauphin.
After raising her children, she rejoined the workforce. Stella worked at the Dauphin Hospital for 18 years; 12 years in the Dietary section and 6 years in Housekeeping.
Stella took great pride in her work and work ethic. She enjoyed volunteering and giving back to her community. This was demonstrated when she volunteered as the head cook of the Valley River Hall, when she helped out on the St. Paul’s Auxiliary and when she volunteered at the Trembowla Cross of Freedom. She was also a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and through all her trials and tribulations she remained very strong in her faith.
Stella loved to attend auction sales, cook, knit, crochet, and embroider. Her children and grand children were receivers of her handy work. She also loved working in her garden and loved all indoor and outdoor flowers. As she lived by Ukrainian traditions, she was very fond of Ukrainian music and loved to dance. She always maintained a good sense of humor and loved being around people. Family was of utmost importance to her and she repeatedly gave whatever and whenever she could.
She was predeceased by; parents Bill & Lena Kolsun, son Ron Sapach, husband Bill Sapach, sister-in-law Rose Kolsun, brother and sister-in-law Ernie and Eleanor Kolsun.
