Stanley Leonard Parenteau

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Leonard Parenteau, husband, father and grandpa, on November 15, 2024, at the age of 79 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Lorna Parenteau of 55 years; children, sons, Stanford, Jason (Angel), Sheldon (Liz), Fred and Johnathan; daughters, April, Vanessa and June; brothers, Paul (Shirley), Wilson (Jeanet), Joey and Michael; sisters, Blanche and Rose Alice.   Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents, father Fred Parenteau and mother Florence; daughter Cheryl Lynn Parenteau; grandchildren, Jewel, Johnathan and Angel; brothers, Peter, Angus, Gilbert and Gordon; sisters, Gloria and Margare; son- in- law Patrick Thompson.
Stanley married his wife Lorna on October 23, 1969. They lived in Duck Bay raising their children. Lorna attended to her children, while Stanley worked on the trap line to provide for his family. Stanley worked on the trap line in Grand Rapids, MB alongside his father and brothers. He also worked in Ontario logging and in Winnipeg as a fish plant worker. Digging seneca root in Grand Rapids. He loved playing crib with his neighbor, his brother Angus. He taught his children how to skin hides he caught on the trap line, which he made a living off of. 
He loved going out to the blueberry patch in the season. He loved to sing country and gospel music and playing his guitar. All who knew him loved his singing. He will be dearly missed.

Traditional Wake was offered on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 4:00 pm from the Duck Bay Community Center.

A Funeral Service was held for Stanley on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm from the Duck Bay Community Center with Pastor Kenny Parenteau officiating.  

Interment followed in the Duck Bay Cemetery.
