Stacey Harlow Obituary

Stacey Harlow was born on May 17, 1975 in Yorkton Saskatchewan to parents Larry and Coral Harlow, a little sister for Dwayne.

Stacey’s early years were spent in Weyburn Saskatchewan, and then at the age of six, she would come to live in Dauphin. Stacey had many friends throughout her school years in Dauphin. Her friendly, kind, personality drew people in. She often spoke fondly of her childhood and of her adventures with Robby and Melanie.

As a teenager, Stacey, loved to drive. We and many others would cruise Main Street for hours. We’d stop at the Shop Easy or bowling alley parking lot to catch up with friends before we would continue to drive for hours, talking and listening to music. Especially her favourite, Madonna.

At the age of 21 Stacey made the move to Winnipeg. She loved the bright lights and excitement of the city. She started out working as a security guard. She worked in several locations including nights at the bus depot, which was a pretty interesting place at 1 AM.

Eventually, she got a job in the mail room at Great West Life insurance.

In 2001, Stacey moved to Calgary Alberta, where she worked in the mail room at the Standard Life Building. Later she would go on to work in the office at a car dealership. Then in 2002 Stacey met Nathalie Morel. Nathalie would eventually move with Stacey back to Manitoba, to live in East Selkirk.

Stacey often spoke of how much she enjoyed living there while breeding dogs. Stacey was very much a lover of animals and nature. She had a deep appreciation for life no matter what form it took, but her dog Keifer would forever hold a special place in her heart.

Next to animals, Stacey‘s great love was the beach. She always dreamed of going to Florida and bought many lottery tickets with that dream in mind. When it came down to it though, Ochre Beach was OK too.

Eventually, Stacey would move back to Calgary and return to the big city life that she enjoyed so much. She would come to Dauphin for long visits with her parents, but eventually she would go back to Calgary, declaring Dauphin too boring and redneck for her taste.

However, following the passing of her mother Coral in 2021 Stacey would move back home once more. In true Stacey fashion she still complained about Dauphin and hoped to move to a city one day.

During the past year, I was able to spend a great deal of time with Stacey. We would reminisce about the good old days of working at the movie store and of our high school escapades. There was never a dull moment back then.

We always thought we’d have so many more memories to be made, but sadly on May 10, 2023, Stacey suddenly and unexpectedly passed away to once again be with her mom Coral, whom she had missed so much.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her father, Larry, her brother, Dwayne and his family as well as many extended family and friends.

Rest in peace Stacey. Hope there’s a nice beach wherever you are.
