It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Shelly Ellis, of Dauphin, MB, on Friday June 18, 2021 at the age of 63. Shelly passed away in Peterborough, ON where she was transported due to COVID 19.
Shelly was born in Swift Current, SK and moved to Dauphin at the early age of 8. She was predeceased by her parents, Ron and Mary Illerbrun and sister Pauline Illerbrun.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Norman, of whom she was married to for 44 years; her son Jason (Lacey) Ellis, Taylor & Levi, son Craig (Amanda) Ellis, Brenden & Brooklyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie (Fred) Boychuk, Lucy (Wendell) Whitehead, Audrey (Glen) Sveinson; as well as nieces and nephews.
Shelly worked at Safeway for 31 years and retired in April of 2020. She was respected by her customers and worked with an uncanny ability to get the job done.
Shelly grew up and enjoyed competitive sports and always enjoyed a good game of baseball. She was an avid Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, while attending the Banjo Bowl dressed in full gear. Her love of fishing was always part of her life and she enjoyed the peace it created.
Shelly had a heart of gold when it came to helping anybody in need and always followed through with kindness and compassion. Shelly was a story teller and often told stories of her travels through photos as she loved taking pictures. Her trip to the East coast was the greatest highlight of her life. Shelly spoke of her faith and involvement in her local church often. Amazing!
The family would like to thank all emergency services teams for their care during this time.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at a later date due to restrictions.
