Sam Hucal of Mink Creek, Manitoba passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the age of 78 years.
Private family services were held for Sam at Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre followed by burial in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Mink Creek.

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of husband, father and grandfather, Sam Hucal Sr. on August 25, 2021, surrounded by his family at the Dauphin Regional Hospital.
Sam was born on February 23, 1943 at Gilbert Plains, MB to Dmetro & Anna Hucal. He attended Borshaw School at Mink Creek, MB and later worked various jobs at Campbell's Soup and Thompson Nickel Mine.
On October 24, 1964, he married Sonia Herman, daughter of John & Anne Herman. That winter they moved to Sudbury, ON where he worked at Creighton Mines. In spring of 1965, they moved to the family farm where they resided until his passing.
Sam loved grain farming and raised cattle along with working at various other jobs. They raised a family of six daughters and one son. Sam loved music and played guitar with various orchestras and formed a band with his daughters Marie and Carol. He retired from active farming but lived on the family farm until his passing.
He is survived by his wife Sonia; children Joan (Brian), Marie (Dale), Carol (Leslie), Diane (Gill), Samuel ( Melissa), Arlene (Mark) and Teresa (Richard); grandchildren Derek, Michael, Kathryn, Owen, Aiden, Karli & Steven; brother Walter (Alice) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Dmetro & Anna Hucal; brother Michael; and in-laws John and Anna Herman, as well as many uncle, aunties and grandparents.
