Ruth Carriere

Ruth Anne (Haus) Carriere passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 8, 2018 at the age of 68 years.  Ruth was born on July 30, 1950 in Regina Saskatchewan.  She lived her childhood in Disley, Saskatchewan.  She graduated high school and continued on to college. 

As an adult she moved to Calgary, Alberta where she met her husband. Denis Carriere.  They married on October 5, 1973 and together built a family with two children. In 1981, the family moved to San Clara, MB and became business owners.  After nine years at the San Clara Hotel, Ruth took time to re-educate herself and start a new career as a personal care aide.  She loved the work, and the people and made many friends.

Ruth had a passion for children and spent a lot of time spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a trusted friend to many, yet she enjoyed time to herself to putter around the house.  She had a passion for horses and horse racing, spending many Friday nights at the Yorkton Exhibition grounds.

Left to cherish her memory are: her husband Denis Carriere of San Clara, MB; her children Cindy Anderson of Estevan, SK and Kevin Carriere (Janice Groulx) of Airdrie, AB; her grandchildren Zachary Anderson and Emma Anderson; brothers Stan Haus and Lee (Chris) Dunn: sister Luella (Dean) Josephson, along with numerous extended family members and also missed by Denis’ extensive family. 

She was predeceased by her father Harold Haus, her mother Olive Haus, brother Howard Haus, sister Lorna Alders, mother and father-in-law Emma and Gerard Carriere, brother-in-law Edgar, sister-in-law Lorraine and other extended family members.

Private family services was held from Sneath-Strilchuk Roblin Chapel in Roblin, MB.  

If family or friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Ruth's memory to Brandon General Hospital, Dialysis Unit or to the Kidney Foundation.
