Rudolph Bernard Anthony Czarnecki was born to Michael and Lena (Kindret) in Fishing River, MB. He was their eldest son, brother to Ron, deceased, and Larry, of Winnipeg.
He worked for CN rail, then was the right-hand man to his parents at the Marshall Wells hardware store in Pine River, MB.
Survived by 4 daughters: Cheryl Czarnecki, of Wellington, FL, Brenda (Scott Lougheed) of Campbell River, BC, Lori Morrice, of Chilliwack, BC, and Alison (Clayton Drysdale), of Winnipeg, MB. Also 5 grandchildren: Brooke Morrice, Robin Morrice, Lena Kernus, Jackson Drysdale, Avery Drysdale.
When his parents sold the Marshall Wells, Rudy and ex-wife Marian (Chorneiko), currently of Grandview, MB and the family moved to Swan River and Rudy worked for Manitoba Housing as a housing inspector, traveling to residential and reservations north of The Pas, MB.
Upon retirement, he lived in Grandview, Roblin, and Dauphin. He was predeceased by his partner of 20 years, Diane Hrycay, in 2025, with whom he enjoyed travel to Yorkton, Brandon, and Florida.
An avid outdoorsman, Rudy would always keep the freezer stocked with venison, moose, elk, walleye, and rainbow trout! He loved fishing at Lake of the Prairies. He earned several trophies for trap-shooting. He collected commemorative rifles and handguns. Rudy enjoyed curling in his younger years, ski-dooing, and "weiner roasts".
Thank you to nurse practioner Heather Hollinder, of Roblin, the staff at the Roblin General Hospital and the Dauphin Personal Care Home.
A service will be held privately, probably near a lake teeming with fish
