Rosemarie Tabak Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rosemarie Tabak on Sept. 7, 2021. She died at the age of 82 with family at her side.

She leaves to mourn Frank, her husband of 61 years, her children; Doug (Louise), Terry (Marguerite), Dean (Joan), Darren (Colleen) and grandchildren; Danielle, Joel, Nolan, Jesse and Mason.

She is predeceased by her mother Anne Lubiniecki, sister Pat and brothers Bill and Robert.

Rose was born in 1939. She attended Lemberg, Wilford and Mineral Creek schools. After high school she attended Little’s Business College and worked at M.T.S. in Dauphin for six years.

In 1960, Rose married Frank Tabak and raised her family on the farm near Gilbert Plains while keeping up huge gardens and even becoming a substitute school bus driver during the harvest season.

Rose’s passions included travelling and watching her sons’ and grandchildren’s sporting events. She also loved to play cards with family and friends and captured a number of trophies competing in bowling tournaments.

She also loved to feed her family at holiday get-togethers and made sure they had plenty of pickles and other canning treats for her boys and grandchildren to take home.

Rose also spent countless hours creating beautiful afghans and blankets that along with the memories of her, will keep her family warm for years to come.  She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family memorial will be held at a future date.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dauphin General Hospital Palliative Ward for their excellent care and attention.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Dauphin General Hospital or Manitoba CancerCare.
