Ronald 'Ron' Ronellenfitch Obituary

Ronald Raymond Ronellenfitch

October 10, 1945 - April 5, 2025

Ronald Raymond Ronellenfitch, age 79 of Medicine Hat, AB passed peacefully at Sunnyside Nursing Home, on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Ron, son of Doris and Charles Ronellenfitch was born on October 10th, 1945, in Timmons, Ontario.

His parents moved from Ontario to a farm in the Shell River Municipality. Ron attended school in Roblin and helped at the farm. At a young age he and his brother loved to race horses, eventually trading 4-legged horsepower for 2 wheeled horsepower and that's when his love for bikes began.

Ron's skills made easy employment for himself. In younger years he worked at Britchers Sawmill to swinging a hammer building the Roblin District Library and at the Roblin District Hospital, to planting trees and climbing power poles in BC, working in the bush and later driving a dozer. He loved working in the oilfield doing reclamation work. He said, “there was something very satisfying watching the dirt roll off the blade.”

Dad married Joan Zibresky in 1974 and together raised their children Lori Ann and Ray Charles.

After years of living in Roblin and working in Alberta he moved to Alberta permanently, where he met and married Joyce. In retirement they enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and being outdoors. They always made time for friends and family, visiting his brother James in BC, and his sister Geraldine and her husband JK along with many other friends and family.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Doris, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, his brother-in-law, JK and sister-in-law, Aurora.

Left to remember Ron is his wife Joyce of Medicine Hat, and the mother of his children Joan; Daughter Lori (Chris); Ron’s first grandchild Carly and great grandchildren Odin and Haisly and grandsons Colton and Coby; Son Ray; and grandchildren, Delsin (Tayla), Tristen (Aiden); step children who dad fondly loved, Jason, Maddi, Trace, Morgan, Pam (Brian), and Emma; brother James of Mission BC; sister Geraldine; many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

A Celebration in Ron's memory was held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Roblin 50 & Over Drop in Centre (124 2 Ave, Roblin, MB R0L 1P0).
