Robert Wayne Hancharyk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Hancharyk of Garland, MB on Sunday January 16, 2022 at the age of 67 years.

Robert was born on June 11, 1954 to Andrew and Mary (Hart) Hancharyk. On July 15, 1978 Robert married Catherine Palichuk of Pine River, MB and they started their life together in Garland and had two children, Ashley and Thomas.  Robert worked for a number of years at different jobs, then he worked for 22 years for Manitoba Conservation.

Robert loved to fish and hunt and he loved spending time with his family and friends and helping out anyone who needed an extra hand.  Then his heart was over the moon when he became a Gigi to his two special little boys, Zaiden and Harlyn.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary Hancharyk; brother Douglas; sister Patricia; sister-in-law Sandy; nieces Robbi and Carol; nephew Jonathan; father and mother-in-law Adolph and Rose Palichuk.

Robert will be greatly missed by his wife Catherine; daughter Ashley and partner Dennis; son Thomas and partner Skylyn and their boys Zaiden and Harlyn; sister Hilda (Garry) Filipchuk; brothers Randy, Les (Sylvia), Keith (Grace); brother-in-law Bert (Debbie) Palichuk; sister-in-law Janet (Norman ) Kyryluk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Private Funeral Service (by invitation only) was held for Robert on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:30 pm from the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church in Pine River with Fr. Nepolian Suvakin officiating.  

Interment following in the Garland Union Cemetery.
