Ricki (Appel) Skomorowski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ricki Skomorowski of Dauphin, formerly of Grandview on December 27, 2024 at the Grandview Personal Care Home at the age of 80.

Ricki was born on April 7th 1944 in Reeuwijk, The Netherlands to Gerard and Pieternella Appel. Mom moved to Toronto Canada in 1965 from the Hague, eventually moving to Winnipeg and later Dauphin MB. Ricki later met Charlie and married in 1971, and together took over the family farm in Grandview raising their four sons, living there until she moved to Dauphin in 2018.

Ricki was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 2017, her parents Gerard and Pieternella Appel and her parents-in-law Harry and Marion Skomorowski.

She is survived by her sons Fraser (Tina), Aaron (Marcy), Warren (Rhea) and Tyson (Victoria). Her Grandchildren Zackery (Shannon), Rebecca, Emily, Teah, Keelah, Brix, Domonik, Max, Teagan, and Larisa. Ricki is also survived by her brother Theo, nephews Stanley, Kevin, niece Maureen, sister-in-law Norma, sister-in-law Helen, niece Georgi (Deji), grandniece Grace, and extended family and life long friends.

In keeping with Ricki’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Cancer Care MB.
