It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Harrison on October 7, 2025 in Winnipegosis, MB.
Richard was born on May 3, 1962 in Winnipegosis. He grew up with his family at Mackenzie Point in Winnipegosis. He worked alongside his Mom and Dad, brothers, sister, family and friends while attending to the farm and commercial fishing on Lake Winnipegosis. He graduated from Winnipegosis Collegiate in 1981. His employment began with diamond drilling for Amisk Drilling in the early 80’s and he drilled until 2010.He was a commercial fisherman from a young boy until the end of the winter season of 2024. He also enjoyed moose hunting and innovating and creating fishing equipment. Richard lived in Winnipegosis all his life and enjoyed his time spent at his camp at Muddy Bay.
He is survived by his wife Kim; children Greg Harrison, Travis Harrison and Kaitlyn Harrison (Lincoln), Tiffany Harrison (Lilly Budge, Bryson Lebel, Aiden Lebel) and Ray Lebel; step children Lindsay Sass and Kyla Janvier, Melissa St. Pierre (Melyna and Hunter), Allison St. Pierre and J.P. Bilodeau (Annabelle and Amelia); siblings Sandy and Rita Harrison (Shawnee and Glenn), Arthur and Sharon Harrison (Anthony and Crystal), Jack Harrison, Colleen and Bill Holt (Amanda, Billy, Deseree and Dory), Glen, Donna Harrison Pakulak and Ronald Pakulak (Avery), Carol Siverthorne and George Lytwyn (Scotty, Dathan and Colin) and Sherry and Dave Lytwyn (Coleman, Nolan and Roman).
He was preceded in death by his parents; Peter and Mary (Bobinski) Harrison; brother Glen Harrison and sister-in-law Sharon Harrison.
A Funeral Liturgy was held for Richard on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:30 am from the Holy Ascension Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipegosis.
