Phil Baumung age 87 of Dauphin, MB passed away peacefully with his family by his side, April 23, 2021 at the Dauphin Personal Care Home.
Phil was born and raised on the family farm near Calder, SK. He was the fifth child of Philip & Justine Baumung. Phil left the farm and pursued a career as a civil engineering tech. He took a job with the Highway Department and moved to Cranberry Portage around 1954, then moved to Dauphin and took a job as assistant town engineer until retiring in 1985. Phil could never sit still, so after retiring he became involved with Mental Health and worked as a proctor for many years. A job that was very near and dear to him. Making many close friends. He also worked casual for the RCMP as a guard.
Phil enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Also later on in life he took up snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
Phil is survived by his wife Winnie Baumung of 60 years; daughter Jacquie (Dean) Morran; sons Grant (Allison) Baumung and Ervin Baumung; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.
Should friends so desire donations in memory of Phil may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Society.
In accordance with Phil's wishes cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
