It is with profound sadness the family of Peter announce his sudden and unexpected passing on October 28, 2024.
Peter was born on August 8, 1947 in Grandview, Manitoba and passed away at the family acreage in Dauphin, Manitoba on October 27, 2024.
Left to mourn is his wife of 47 years Lillian Yakymchuk. Children; Shannon (Brian) Rehirchuk & Ashley Yakymchuk. Granddaughter Madison Rehirchuk. Step granddaughter Lauren Rehirchuk. Siblings; Pauline (Larry) Wonitoway, Pat (Ernie) Lulashnyk, Bill (Pam) Yakymchuk, Steve (Irene) Yakymchuk. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends & mining buddies.

He retired from mining in 2017 at the age of 70. This was not the end of his career, as he continued to work but this time remained closer to home working for the Gilbert Plains Co-op Agro-Centre.
Peter enjoyed spending his time outdoors, boating and fishing in the summer, to snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter months. But most of all Peter enjoyed spending his time with his family and especially with his granddaughter Maddie.
