Peter Zenon Mischuk

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Peter Zenon Mischuk on July 21, 2026, at the age of 82.

Peter was the beloved husband of 58 years to Judy, loving father to Cory (Gaylene) and Nicole (Michael), ever so proud grandpa to Jayden, Maya and Riley, and grandpawrent to Jet and Macy.

Pete was born and raised on the family farm in the Tamarisk District.  After spending a few years in Winnipeg, where he worked at Dominion Bridge and then at Peterson Plumbing, he returned to Grandview in 1974 to start Mischuk Plumbing and Heating, which he owned and operated until 2021.  An active community member, he sat on the G.A.C.C. board for many years and was one of the early Grandview Kinsmen.

Peter loved the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. As an avid sports fan, he spent many years managing his son’s hockey team and following his daughter and then his grandkids to their sports and activities. When his playing days were over, he remained a steadfast supporter of Grandview’s local teams, including the Comets and Lakers, and a loyal Saskatchewan Rough Riders fan to the end.

Always one with a quick wit or a little joke, he will be remembered for his work ethic and his strong love for his family.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Anne, stepfather William Hrabliuk, brothers Walter and Sylvester, sister Vera, parents in-law John and Dorothy, and brother in-law Richard (Brenda).

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as his brothers-in-law Bill White and John Daviduik (Dawn), sisters-in-law Shirley Mischuk, Carol Stadnyk, Sandy Cairns (Bruce), Sharon Juylan (Murray) and Gaylene Hunter (Jim), and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Grandview Hospital for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to STARS Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice.

A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday July 28 at the Grandview Kinsmen Community Centre.
