It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Percy Pete Houle Sr, Ozhaawashko-binesi on Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home on the Ebb and Flow First Nation.  Percy passed away peacefully following a lengthy battle with cancer and was surrounded by his loving family.
Percy was born on September 9th, 1933 in Ste. Rose du Lac.  He worked with sewage and water across Manitoba for over 40 years.  Percy and his wife Mary raised their family on the Ebb and Flow First Nation.  For numerous years, Percy worked with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, West Region Tribal Council and the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Council.  He dedicated a lot of his time to his community and surrounding areas.  Percy was a strong believer in his traditional ways.  He held his own Sundances for over 10 years with people from the Canada and US in attendance.
Percy loved his guitar & fiddle.  He would get up and ask his wife to dance anytime of the day.  Percy would grab his guitar and start singing while his kids and grandkids sat around him and enjoyed his singing.
Percy was predeceased by his father Pierre Houle, his mother Edith Flett, his daughter Margaret and his son Denis.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; his wife of 65 years Mary, his children Denise (Harold Flett 2015), Leon (Sharon), Lucille (Craig), Olga, Fern (Doug Ferland), Percy Jr (Marilyn), Darcy (Selena), his adopted son Dan Larson (Lori), his granddaughter Sheena (Tyrone Desjarlais) as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
