It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Pat Hrushka on Monday, November 29, 2021 in Dauphin, MB at the age of 71 years, after a lengthy period of ill health.
On July 12, 1950 Pat was the first born to Bill and Ella (Muzyka) Hrushka in Winnipegosis, MB. Pat attended the one room schoolhouse in Rice Lake for her elementary schooling and then attended Winnipegosis Collegiate for high school. She was always a very hard worker which she proved on the family farm. You could see her driving tractors, doing field work, helping with harvest and cattle and gardening which she really enjoyed in comparison to washing dishes - ha!
Pat worked for MTS for a couple of years as her first job in Dauphin and then joined the Bank of Nova Scotia team and worked there until retirement. Pat would always say BNS was her job, but after retirement she worked part time at “Only Deals” and she always said that was her career.
Pat loved children and they loved her and some babies that are now adults and have their own children still call her “Aunty Pat”. Pat was a caring person. She made and has life long friends. Pat did some travelling, Hawaii, Bahamas, Disneyland and Las Vegas. She had no problem finding others (family or friends) as companions and these were just fun good times.
When Pat moved to Dauphin she lived with her Grandma & Grandpa Muzyka until she bought her home on Elmay Street and has lived there until her passing.
She enjoyed her flower gardens, vegetable garden and many hobbies, crafting, knitting, baking, to mention a few and going to bingo’s, which always included friends. Bingo started at 7 but the girls would be there at 5 to play cards and chat. She would spend countless hours at the hospital when her friends where in for a hospital stay. Pat served on the Board of Directors for Kinsmen Villa and enjoyed the company of the others, especially the tenants. She also enjoyed her time at the Legion and liked visiting with staff and other friends.
Pat was predeceased by her Father Bill on August 10, 2021, both sets of her grandparents, Hrushka’s and Muzyka’s and numerous aunties uncles and cousins.
Pat is survived by her Mom (Ella), sister Peggy (Peter Lawton), sister Janet, niece and godchild Jennifer (Matthew Cuaderno), great nieces Natalie and Keena, special aunties Anne & Olga and very special cousin Dennis, plus numerous other cousins. Pat you are loved and will be missed. You were taken from all of us much to soon. There will be no more suffering just heavenly peace. Rest in Peace.
