Onie Elizabeth (Jensen) Abrey

It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother Onie Elizabeth Abrey on May 8, 2018 at the age of 86 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Joyce (Gerry) Smid, Eric (Arlene) Abrey, Les (Corrina) Abrey, brothers and sisters, Ivan (Edna)Jensen, Bernice (Richard) Zielkie, Peggy (Jim) Lang, Iris Chivers, Brian (Jean) Jensen, Garry (Val) Jensen, Debbie (Michael) Masi and grandchildren Darcy Nykolaishen, Warren and David Abrey, Jenna Smid, Sarah Hrytsay, Krista Abrey, Jessica Bell, Chad Abrey, Johnathon, Jessica and Jenna Pacey, as well as 14 great grandchildren. 
Onie is predeceased by her husband, Allan Abrey, her daughter Barb Nykolaishen, sisters Helene and Paulette Jensen. Onie was also predeceased by Scottie, her beloved and exceptionally spoiled dog which she referred to as "my puppy".
Onie loved socializing, had a great personality and was loved by everyone young and old. She enjoyed bowling, playing softball, shuffleboard and dancing. In her last year she lived in the Dauphin Personal Care Home where she had a special friend, Stan Babee. She was very helpful in the home helping the staff and other residents. She was elected President for the Recreational Committee. 
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Mathison and all the staff for their excellent care at the Dauphin PCH.

Celebration of life was held on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at Sneath- Strilchuk Family Care Centre at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.  

Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Onie may be made to the Parkland Humane Society or Dauphin Personal Care Home.
