Olga Josephine Taylor, (Jo) of Dauphin, MB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the age of 78 years.
Jo was born on March 15, 1945 in Grandview, Manitoba to Antony and Pauline Yaroway and grew up there on the family farm, the eldest of six children.
She began her career in healthcare as a nurse's aide at Gilbert Plains Hospital, and in 1965 officially entered into LPN training in Winnipeg, MB. She did her practicum in Ste Rose du Lac and upon completing her training obtained full time employment there. She enjoyed going to dances in Rorketon and surrounding areas and this is where she met Roger.
In 1967, she married Roger Taylor of Rorketon, MB. They worked and resided in various locations throughout Manitoba before settling in Rorketon, with their three children, Christopher, Tammy and Kimberley.
Through the next number of years, Jo worked in home care positions which allowed her to keep her LPN license active.
Jo was left to raise the children on her own when Roger passed away in 1981. She worked in Rorketon Collegiate School for a few years before she began working at Ste Rose General Hospital. She then moved on to full time employment at Dauphin General Hospital. In 1992 Jo moved from Rorketon to make Dauphin her new home. She continued to work at the hospital until her retirement in 2010, but stayed on casual doing the work she loved at St. Paul's Nursing Home.
Jo loved spending time with her family, friends, neighbors and church community. She was passionate about gardening and spent many hours tending to her yard. Jo also loved to travel and over the years did many tours with family and friends.
Left to cherish many fond memories are her son Christopher (Rosalyn), her daughters Tammy and Kimberley (Robert); her grandchildren, Jessica (Graham), Carlee, Kelsey (Zach), Samantha, Meagan, Joshua, and Jack; her step-grandchildren, Ramona and Rory; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose, Helen and Nellie (Barry) and brother, Steve.
She is predeceased by her husband, Roger, her parents Antony and Pauline, sister Mary, and granddaughters Simone and Ashley.
The family wishes to thank all her friends, family and those who supported and cared for her, throughout her life’s journey.
