Norma Mae Bell, born December 13, 1939, died peacefully in the Grandview Hospital on March 11, 2019 at the ag of 79. The only child of Vicky and Rolly Bell, Norma spent several years at the MB Development Centre in Portage La Prairie, moving from there to Dauphin and once again in 2006 to Grandview where she became a client of Grandview Greatways, Inc.
Now life began! Norma loved to dance. Attending Folkarama was always fun. She enjoyed summer camp, going to a fair or community event and spending time with her best friend, Tommy. An outing to Gilbert Plain for lunch was the highlight of any day.
At the activity center, Norma did jig saw puzzles, coloured, played Bingo and took part in exercises, all the while anticipating coffee time. For personal enjoyment, Norma read. Romance in books and movies suited her taste.
Norma is survived by several cousins and special friends Tommy Saunders and Betty Wenner.
Heartfelt thanks to medical and Gateways staff and all members of Norma’s church and community who did their part to help Norma have a good life.
Thanks also to Joe and Kimberly Coffey who handled the end of Norma’s life with respect and efficiency.
A Funeral Service was held for Norma on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Grandview United Church in Grandview with Rev. Karen Kuzek officiating.
Interment followed in the Grandview Memorial Gardens & District Cemetery.
