It is with great sadness that the family of Norbert Ivan Abigosis announces his passing on September 3, 2020 at the age of 52. Ivan was born on September 21, 1967 in Winnipegosis, MB to Therese and Norbert Abigosis (nee Pelletier).
In his early years, Ivan was a amateur boxer who was trained by his late father, Norbert Abigosis and had a lot of support by his late mother, Therese Abigosis. He was very active in his boxing career, also traveling to Quebec and Western Canada advancing his amateur boxing career. Ivan gained a lot of respect in his boxing career. Winning trophies and medals. After his boxing career, Ivan was a natural commercial fisherman under the guidance of his late father, Norbert Abigosis, he made a career out of commercial fishing both summer and winter on Lake Winnipegosis establishing two camps on Denbeigh Point and Birch Island. He also had many talents in the work force and was an accomplished saw mill operator, carpenter, personal logger and a talented artist and his latest job was a dry waller and roofer.
Ivan will forever be remembered by his children, Ivan (Jessica), Kirsten (Joseph.G), Samantha (Joseph.Y), Peyton (Jeff) Terra, Quincey and Jamie. His brothers and sisters, Alice (Andrew) Lawrence, Gary, Lorraine (Dave) Brian, Anthony. Ivan has nine beautiful grandchildren.
Ivan is predeceased by his parents, Therese and Norbert Abigosis; his brother, Gerald Abigosis and niece, Isabelle Abigosis.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Sneath Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
