It is with deep sadness the family of Nicky announce his unexpected passing at home on the family farm on February 5th, 2025.

Nicky was predeceased by his parents Kay Senyk (Shumski) and Nick Senyk.

He will be dearly missed by his brother and sisters, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Senyk, Phyllis and Herb Buck and their family, Paul Buck (Summer), Amanda and Rob Elund ( Jonathan, Matthew, Thomas) Kevin Buck, Pamela and Ryan Ulliac, ( Isabella, Jaxin), Amy and Mike Kent, (Daniel, Carter, Ethan), Sarah and Jon Kennedy, ( Aeryn, Aria, Luke), Donnie Senyk, Tracy and Kory Lulashnyk, ( Willow Lulashnyk , Kelsey Lulashnyk and Douglas Mansell (Kye) ), Tammy and Darrel Hrycay, ( Riley), as well as many cousins and extended family and friends.

Nicky was born on March 12, 1969, to Nick and Kay Senyk. Nicky attended Ethelbert school and helped extensively on the family farm starting at an early age.

Nicky along with Donnie worked several years at a local honey farm and together they made an impressive team. They worked hard, were very reliable  and understood the beekeeping business very well. In future years they started their own small beekeeping business that they ran on the farm. Nicky also worked in the roofing industry, construction on local hog barns and for local farmers. Nicky always worked hard and was dedicated to whatever job he took on. Nicky was proud of being a farmer and even through the many challenges he persevered and was determined to sustain and grow the farm with many plans and projects always in mind.

When Nicky was not busy haying or maintaining machinery, you could find him in his wood working shop. He was very talented when it came to carpentry and wood working. Many family members have pieces of wood working projects he made over the years. He also loved canning, preserving and baking. At family get togethers and visits to the farm you could always expect the table to be full of delicious food prepared by Nicky. He would often send you home with some samples of his food like a package of cinnamon buns or a jar of pickles and maybe even a trunk full of vegetables!

Uncle Nicky really enjoyed spending quality time with his nieces and nephews! He would get their hands in the dough baking with him and preparing goodies and treats for them to take home. Uncle Nicky would take them on excursions through his fields for a variety of reasons like picking pussy willow’s, hunting for mushrooms and berries, breaking up beaver dams, and making boats to float in the creeks.  In the winter Uncle Nicky with the help of his brother would build gigantic curvy slides and cool skating rinks even if the kids were only out a short period. Many of them also got there first driving lesson on the farm with Uncle Nicky coaching them on which way to turn, where to stop, going up and down those dirt roads in the fields.

Nicky always lived on the family farm with his parents and looked after the farm. When his mother was diagnosed with diabetes and later cancer, Nicky was determined help his father take care of her and prepare food that met the dietary requirements she needed. After she passed, he continued caring for his father so that he could live the rest of his life on the farm. Caring for his parents was done together with his brother Donnie who also continues to live at the farm.

Nicky was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking individual. His Passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends and all those who were honoured to have had the privilege to know him.
