Nettie Cull Obituary

Antoinette “Nettie” Cull

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Antoinette “Nettie” Cull announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Ste. Rose General Hospital with family by her side.
Nettie was born on October 9, 1928 to August and Wubcke Boerchers.  She joined the rest of her siblings, making her the 10th and final one.  Her siblings were John, Theresa, Adolph, Herman, Freida, Martha, Greta, Bill and Charlie.  Nettie was born on the family farm in Laurier, while the rest of her siblings were born in Germany.
Nettie married Wilbert Cull on November 11, 1951 in Ochre River and they had 5 children Allan, Linda, Darlene, Garry and Norman.  They took over the family farm on the lakeshore of Dauphin Lake where they raised cattle, chickens and pigs.  Nettie would milk the cows and do the remainder of the chores while Webb was gone trucking.  She would then come in the house and get the children ready for school.  Once the children were old enough, they helped do the chores.
She enjoyed gardening and planting and maintaining her flower beds.  Nettie always had a big garden with lots of potatoes. Nettie worked at the Rodeway Inn as a housekeeper and at the Dauphin Auction Mart where she cooked and served meals.   Life wasn’t all hard work, Nettie enjoyed knitting, curling, bowling, playing cards and shuffleboard with various family members and friends.  Nettie and Webb also found time to do some travelling to Niagara Falls, North Dakota and California.
Family was always important to Nettie; Allan married Bonnie and they have 3 children Courtney, Devin and Garrett, Linda married Bob and they have 3 children Angie, Clayton and Pam, Darlene married Donnie and they have 2 children Brad and Kat, Garry married Nancy and they have 1 child Dakota and Norman married Amanda and they have 2 children Becky and Blake.  She was blessed with 8 great grandchildren.
After many years of farming, Nettie decided it was time for retirement and moved off the farm.  She made her new home a mile down the road.  On March 1, 2021, she had an unfortunate incident where she suffered frost bitten hands.  After a 2 week stay in hospital, Nettie made a new home in a place where she said she never wanted to go, the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care home.  Nettie resided here until her passing.  Nettie now joins her husband Webb, her son-in-law Bob Geisel and her siblings, all of them safe in the arms of Jesus.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories; her children Allan Cull (Bonnie), Linda Geisel (Guy), Darlene Gervais (Steve), Garry Cull (Nancy), Norman Cull (Amanda), 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Selma Boerchers along with numerous extended family members and friends.
