Millie McLuckie

Millie McLuckie of McCreary passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the age of 87 years.  

Millie was born on October 1, 1934 In Morden, Manitoba to Jacob and Katherine (Reimer) Dyck. 

Due to the passing of her mother at a young age she was moved to another family of relatives  John & Mary (Reimer) Dyck & siblings which would become her permanent family.  Eventually they would move to McCreary Manitoba, but she would always remain close to her biological family.

Millie married Robert McLuckie on October 29, 1954. They farmed in McCreary until Millie took a position at the McCreary/Alonsa  Health Centre as a cook and later moved to laundry/housekeeping aide where she worked until retirement.  After retirement Millie kept herself busy joining many of the organizations in town,  she always had a calendar full of meetings and places to go as well as many memorable trips with her husband. She was a very uplifting person with a very positive attitude and always found the bright side of any situation. She will be dearly missed.

Survived by sons, Ernest (Sandra), Don ;  grandsons James (Heather), John (Emily); great granddaughter Tegan; and many nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by husband Robert;  parents John & Mary Dyck; sisters Helen, Elsie (brother-in-law Abe), Marion, Kathleen, Rita ( brother-in-law Wes); brother John ( sister-in-law Lorraine);
father-in-law Lorrison & mother in law Maudie; and brother-in-law Connor .

The family would like to thank all those in attendance as well as Ryan Raffray of Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Home, Norma Windle for the beautiful service, and the United Church ladies for the lovely lunch.

A memorial service was held on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Knox United Church, McCreary, MB 

Interment in the McCreary Municipal Cemetery.
