Michael Harry Chachula

Michael H. Chachula of Dauphin, MB passed away on March 13, 2023 at the age of 62 years young.

Michael was born in Russell, MB to Stephen and Annie Chachula (Ewankiw), he was the youngest of 4 children.

Michael had a passion for the outdoors, he would spend many days out on the lake with family and friends. He was a skilled handyman, a Jack of all trades, and could fix or build anything.  If he couldn't he would definitely learn.  Michael was a man with a big heart and a larger than life personality.  There were never dull moments with him around, guaranteed to always leave you with a smile on your face.

Michael was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did.  He started his career with Dauphin Infrastructure (Highways) in 1980 and retired in 2016. After retirement he worked for Dawson Logistics part time, while continuing to work for Dauphin Plains Seeds, where he had been since 2005.  He had a passion for farming, working for many farmers over the years through harvest season as hired help.

Michael was suddenly diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer on January 29, 2023, that took his life way too soon. 

Left to cherish his memory are his children, daughter Stephanie and son Tyson Chachula of Dauphin, MB; his sisters Olga (Ron) Mastin of Victoria, BC, Elsie (Mervin) Kawchuk of Dauphin, MB, Betty (Clair) Beischer of Inglis, MB; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends that will hold dear all the memories made.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Rev. Michel Nault officiating.  The service will be live streamed for anyone unable to make it.

Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
