Mervin Thompson "Bigman" of Bacon Ridge passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the age of 67 years.
Mervin Joseph Thompson was born on April 22,1958 in Ste.Rose du Lac, Manitoba. He passed away peacefully at the age of 67 with his family by his side on April 26, 2025 at Dauphin Regional Health Centre.
Mervin was predeceased by his father Douglas, sister Sandra, son Logan, great grandson Logan Douglas, mother of his 3 eldest children Peggy, paternal grandparents Walter & Mary Louise Thompson, maternal grandparents Roderick & Margaret Flett.
Family & loved ones left to cherish his memory are his special friend Nadine, children Shauna (Sonny), Mandy (Shane), Mervin Jr, Blake, Teegan (Kade). His grandchildren Trystan, Taylor, Torie, Trista, Marcus, Nate, Nicholas, Chane, Chance, Chanel, Journey. Great granddaughter Anastacia. Mother Alice Eva. Siblings Lyle, Wayne (Sheila), Keith, Kelvin, Charlene (Carlos), Larry Flett (Freda). Godchildren Michelle, Ashley, Sage. Numerous nieces & nephews. Many cousins and countless friends.
The family would like to thank the first responders of Ebb and Flow First Nation, the caring and compassionate hospital staff at the Intensive Care Unit at Brandon Regional Health Centre & at the Special Care Unit at Dauphin Regional Health Centre.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk's Ste. Rose Chapel, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB
Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm from Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB
Interment followed in the Ste. Rose Cemetery
