Matilda (Hawryluk) Peterson

October 25, 1931 ~ January 24, 2021 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Matilda Peterson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Matilda Peterson on January 24, 2021 at the McCreary/Alonsa Personal Care Home at the age of 89 years

Matilda was born in Ethelbert, MB on October 25, 1931 to parents Mike and Anne Hawryluk.

She married Deward Peterson from Vancouver, BC on July 12, 1951.

Matilda worked in Regina at the RCMP barracks before moving to Garland, MB with her husband to farm and raise their children.  Once they retired from the farm, they moved to Dauphin, then moved to Penticton, BC and lived there for quite a few years, then returned to Manitoba to settle in Dauphin.  Most recently Matilda resided at the McCreary/Alonsa Personal Care Home. 

Matilda is survived by her children, daughter Irene Bogoslowski, sons Travis, Richard and Larry Peterson; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great great granddaughters; her sister Alice Hrycay; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She will be greatly missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband Deward Peterson; son Jackie Peterson; son-in-law Hank Bogoslowski; brother John Hawryluk; sister-in-law Jean Hawryluk; brother-in-law Don Hrycay.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Personal Care Home for the care and compassion that Matilda received during her time there.
 
Graveside Service was held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:30 am from Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB with Rev. Fr. Brent Kuzyk  officiating.
