Mary Yaskowich Obituary

Mary Yaskowich (Rudyk) passed away peacefully on Friday, June 8th, 2018 at approximately 10:30 pm with her granddaughter and main caregiver Jordyn by her side.  In a matter of minutes after Mary's death, her second caregiver and daughter in law Bonnie and son Ralph were at her side.  Yet in a matter of another few minutes her third caregiver and son David was at her side.  Caught waiting on the other side of a train in Dauphin was her grandson Jarret and his wife Ashleigh. Upon their arrival they all consoled each other and had many cries.  Her oldest son Chris was notified and he notified James and Gerard.

Mary (Mom) did not want to die alone and did not want to die in a care home.  As a family we did all that had to be done to keep Mom comfortable and alive until God had her place in heaven next to Dad ready for her.

Mary leaves behind her five boys Chris, David, Gerard, James (partner Patricia) and Ralph (Bonnie); her grandchildren Dwayne (partner Rebecca) and their children Elijah, Declan, and Wesley; Nicole (partner Mike); Jarret (Ashleigh) and their children Zach, Logan and Paityn; and Jordyn.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Stan almost four years to the day (June 9th, 2014), parents Andrew and Katie Rudyk, brother Allan Rudyk, and her grandson Justin.  Mary was also predeceased by her in laws Alexander and Stefania Yaskowich, brother in laws Bill Pryputniski, William Dmytriw, Otto Reincke and Raymond Lalach.

Mary was born on December 15th, 1931 in Rama, Saskatchewan where she attended school until she had to drop out of school to help take care of her younger siblings.  Mary met Stan Yaskowich and married him in 1955.  Together they raised their family in Hudson Bay and Canora, Saskatchewan and finally settled and lived the rest of their lives in Dauphin, Manitoba.  Mary loved gardening, cooking, knitting, her God, but most of all her family.

Dear Lord,
Put your arms around her,
Hold her in Your tender care,
Make up to her for all she suffered
And all she had to bear.
She went through so much in silence,
her spirits didn't bend;
She faced her pain with courage
Until the very end.
It broke our hearts to lose her,
But she didn't go alone;
For part of us went with her
The day God called her home.
