Mary Farmer Obituary

Mary Farmer, age 86 years of Ste Rose du lac and formerly of Dauphin, passed away on Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home.

Mary was born July 9th, 1933 in Langruth, Manitoba, to Barbara and Thomas Brown.  On April 19th, 1952 she married Murray Farmer of Plumas, Manitoba.  They farmed briefly in the Gladstone and Arden areas before moving to Dauphin in 1956.  They moved to the Eclipse District in 1961, and to Dauphin in 2005.  Mom moved into the Care Home in 2019 where she resided until her passing.  Mom attended Grace Bible Church for many years.  She served in the Sunday School as a teacher and in the Ladies Group.  During the last year she attended Grace Baptist Church at Ochre River with her daughter’s family.
Mom always kept busy with sewing and knitting.  She sewed many items for her children and knit many baby blankets, baby sweaters and afghans.  She loved to cook and bake.  Her buns, tarts, pies, crisps, and chocolate cake were best on the block.  Many a fellowship time with good food and friends around our family table was enjoyed.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Murray, daughter, Karen, parents Barbara and Thomas Brown, sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Peter Buksovich, brother Irvine Brown, brother-in-law James Lloy, nieces Lynda Monsee, Bernice McLaren and Brenda Harder. father-in-law and mother-in law, Otto and Mary Anne Farmer, brother - in-law and sister-in law Archie and Clara Farmer, brother- in - laws Melvin, Wesley and Kenneth Farmer and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Irene and Lorne Kerr, Iris and Albert Rink, and Ivy and Keith Charles and sister-in-law Hazel Farmer.
Left to cherish many fond memories are her son, Derrall and wife Jane of Souris, MB and their children Larissa(Tyler) Luptak, Olsen; Tara(Darcy) Friesen and Jenna Farmer; her daughter Donna and husband Keith DeVries of Ochre River, MB and their children Brad(Linnea) DeVries, Emrie and Eloise; Bobbie(Dean) Neudorf, Levi, Jude and Aubree; and sister Jean Lloy of Selkirk, MB; sister-in-law Doreen Brown of Vernon BC; and brother - in- law Elmer Farmer of Gilbert Plains, MB and numerous nieces and nephews.
Because of Mom’s strong faith in God, we hold great comfort in knowing she is with the Lord.
