It is with great heartache that we announce the sudden passing of our loving Mother, Koko, Aunt, Niece and Godmother Mary Rita Davis on August 26th, 2025. She was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba on April 28th, 1962, daughter of Jim and Vera Davis. She had two siblings Carol Catcheway and Conrad Davis whom she all loved dearly. Mary was raised in Bacon Ridge, Manitoba where she spent a majority of her life. She had received her education at Ste. Rose Collegiate. She moved to Winnipeg in the Early 1980’s where she had numerous friends and played practically any sport you can think of such as Floor Hockey, Baseball and Broomball, she absolutely loved her sports. Her favourite past times included gardening with her Mom, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. She worked many years at Mid-Town Carwash in which enjoyed. She loved to spend time with family and friends, especially her special friends Sheila Thompson, Elaine Marko and Fern Houle. She loved joking around and making people laugh. She enjoyed travelling to Pow Wows with her friends and family.
Mary is survived by her children Lennie Davis and Sandy Davis (Cecely), Jamie Catcheway (Bonnie Roulette), Ashley Catcheway (Jenilee Catcheway), Greg Catcheway (Janelle Fiddler) and Rene Catcheway. Grandchildren Darnell Davis-Bruce and Douglas Davis-Comeau, Lacey, Jamie Jr., Emily, James, Jake, Jax and her Bebe Paisley. Harmony, Broly, Roselyn, Enzo, Aliza. Francisco Hernandez Jr (Godchild) and her brother Conrad Davis. Her pets Mojo and Lady. There were many children she took in as her own whether they were nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Vera Davis, her sister Carol Catcheway, her paternal grandparents Pat and Louisa Davis. and her maternal Grandparents Frank and Mary Catcheway.
A wake and prayer services for Mary will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 beginning at 5:00 pm in the Ebb and Flow Community Complex, Ebb and Flow First Nation. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 pm. Family and friends who would like to escort Mary to the complex are asked to meet at Sneath-Strilchuk's Ste. Rose Chapel at 4:00 pm on Friday.
Funeral Service for Mary was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB. Fr. James Ahaneku officiated. Interment followed in the Ste. Rose Cemetery.
