Mary Bernat died peacefully on November 22, 2019 at the age of 96 in Dauphin, Manitoba. Mary was born on January 15, 1923 to Philip and Anna Wosowich where she was raised along with her three brothers on the family farm.
She met her husband and soul mate Michael in 1941 and were married two years later. Together they had three children, Audrey, Wes and Ernie which they raised together on the family farm in Keld, Manitoba. Farming was an important part of her life and they operated the farm until they retired and moved to Dauphin.
In Dauphin, she continued on with her love of gardening until she was unable to do so. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking for her family.
She is survived by her family, Audrey Dolhun, Ernie and Bernadette Bernat, daughter-in-law Stephanie Bernat along with various grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Michael, son Wes, grandson Andrew and brothers, Joe, Mike and Pete.
Funeral Liturgy was held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10:30 am from Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin, MB with Very Rev Father Oleg Bodnarski officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB. Pallbearers were Allan Kostur, Dave Sukaroff, Harvey Bomak, Brian Frykas, Lorne Smelski, Don Stokotelny.
