Marjorie Kinaschuk Obituary

Marjorie Jean Kinaschuk (Atamanchuk) of Ethelbert, MB passed away on Sunday January 14th in Dauphin MB at the age of 83 years.

Marjie was born in Dauphin, MB on July 4th,1940 to John Atamanchuk and Annie (Lylyk). Marjie was raised in Dauphin, MB with her parents and 2 brothers Bill and Ernie.

In June of 1959 while at a picnic in Zelana she met Paul Kinaschuk, who she married on August 15, 1959. They moved to Ethelbert MB where they built their home and had 4 children: Carol, Iris, Carl and Orest.

Marjie was always on the go. She was very active in the community with the Ethelbert Echo, Lion's Club, the Orthodox Women's Association and the Ethelbert and District Museum. She was always cutting grass in the summer, not only at home but for neighbors and local businesses as well and blowing snow in the winter. She also loved sewing, baking, playing bingo, bowling, and at any dance or social you could find her on the dance floor. She would never turn down an opportunity to cook a meal for the family that would always be 3 times the amount of food that they would need. She often took her 2 eldest granddaughters, Brandy and Meagan, with her to bingo while they were growing up and loved any excuse to go out gallivanting.

Marjie was predeceased by her parents, brothers, husband and brother-in-law Steve. She is survived by her 4 children; Carol (Brent Yurkiw), Iris (Frank Rodgers), Carl, Orest (Tricia Kinaschuk), her grandchildren; Brandy, Meagan (Andy Malley), Alyssa, Steven and Daman. Her great grandchildren; Dallas, Jesse, Dawson, Karter and Kendra. As well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to thank Father Brent Kuzyk for officiating the funeral. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the home care workers, and staff at Winnipegosis Hospital, Dauphin Regional Hospital and the Dauphin Personal Care Home, for all their care and compassion over the last few years.
