Marilyn Elizabeth Benson

Marilyn was born on September 29, 1945 in Ste. Rose du Lac to Olive and Charlie Morden. 

Marilyn attended the one room school house of Sunrise and McCreary School.  She enjoyed volunteering in the community with the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Ag Society.  Marilyn also served the community doing homecare after acquiring her Health Care Aide Certificate.  She was dedicated to her family.  Marilyn loved being outdoors, gardening and especially doing anything and everything with her horses.  She was a 4-H member and later on became a leader sharing her love and knowledge of horses.  Marilyn was the hardest working farmwife and mother there ever was.  She was so easy going and always put her kids first.  She quietly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, jigsaw puzzles and reading western novels. 

Marilyn enthusiastically enjoyed old time dances, bus trips, family trips, camping trail rides and taking vacation trips to visit with family.  The Mother's Day Trail Ride was initiated by her to celebrate with her kids and she celebrated her birthday with them on the Keith Birch Memorial Trail Ride at Riding Mountain.  She endured the chaotic family trail rides, but was still quick to plan the next one. 

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, her brother Fraser, her son Glen, and her infant great granddaughter Cherish. 
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories; her daughter Lorraine (Larry), Chuck (Nikki) Emerson & Mia, Corey, daughter Eunice, Dwayne (Marina) & Hunter, daughter Gail, Connor & Jesse, son Harley, special grandson Justice, Glen's daughters Alyssa and Jade, Herb, her siblings David (Marge), Terry, Debbie, aunt Joan (Mitch) Skoropata, sister-in-law Margaret Morden, brother-in-law Oliver (Maisie) Benson along with numerous extended family members and many friends. 
Her huge loving heart took her to the heavens.  She will be greatly missed.  Thank you Mom for the treasured memories. 

A celebration of Marilyn's life was held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the McCreary Community Centre, McCreary, MB.
