Louis Antoine Lionel Vandepoele was born on January 8th, 1939 and passed away peacefully with his wife Yvette and several of his children by his side on February 28, 2021 at the age of 82 years old.  All of his kids were blessed and got to see him on his final day and say goodbye.

Louis and Yvette were married in 1959 and had 61 years together. They started their life together on the farm in Ste Amelie 1 mile from his parent’s family farm. They built a new home there and filled it 6 of their own children and many many foster children throughout the years.  Those 6 kids also led to 12 grandchildren, which eventually led to 8 great grandchildren. Their house was always full: full of love, kindness and kids.  Louis and Yvette farmed for 36 years until they “retired” in 1995 when they built a house in Ste Rose.  Everyone knows a farmer never actually retires so Louis continued to work on the farm with Wayne and Robert for many, many years.  Louis loved everything about the farm except the 4am cattle checks in the middle of winter.   Farming was his life and he put everything he had into it!

Louis was a Jack of all Trades and knew how to fix EVERYTHING!!  In his spare time while farming, he also worked on council in Ste Rose, taught welding, drove the school bus, volunteered at church and helped out every neighbor in a 10 mile radius. Louis loved to talk, joke around, tease and visit with everyone.   He also loved to sing, listen to music, play cards and always had a huge smile on his face.  Louis also loved to fish, spend time in the boat, camp and travel.

He leaves behind his loving wife Yvette, his 6 children, Wayne (Lori), Robert (Gisele), Deborah (Don), Brian (Charlene), Natalie (Darrell) and Dale (Tracy), grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother and sister in laws Levi (Annette), Lucien (Jen), Emile (Anna), Alcide (Darlene), Ernest (Darlene), Louis Pinette, Therese Dionne, Jessie and Emily Pinette and Rolande Vandepoele, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Louis mourned the loss of his mom Helene, his dad Antoine and his brothers Joe and Rene who also passed before him but were reunited with them in February 2021.  Louis also had a brother Achille who passed away before Louis was born that he called his guardian angel.  Louis’ ashes will rest forever beside his guardian angel.

WE LOVE AND MISS YOU!! REST IN PEACE!
