Lorne Leslie Christie at the age of 86 passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026 in his home with family by his side.
Lorne was born in Russell, MB on march 30, 1939 to Maurice and Winnifred Christie ( nee Clement). The family moved to Dauphin where Lorne received his education. Upon completing high school a the Dauphin Collegiate and Technical Institute he began his career working at Gillis and Warren in Dauphin and Flin Flon. He later moved on and worked at Thompson Products in Winnipeg, MB, Calgary, AB and St. Catharines, ON. Upon his retirement in 2004 Lorne was employed at Federal Mogul in Toronto, ON.
Lorne was a very loving, kind and generous man. He loved cars, music and sports, especially the Toronto blue Jays.
Lorne had a great love for his country Canada. He travelled from coast to coast enjoying visits with relatives and friends.
Lorne was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Winnifred Christie, first wife Patricia Christie, brothers Larry Christie and Al Christie.
Left to cherish his fond memories are his loving family, wife Frances Christie, son Greg Bell (Allison), grandson Jonathon Bell (Danielle), granddaughters Regan Bell and Mackenzie Bell (Kidus).
Lorne will be remembered by his loving family in Ontario, daughter Susan Williams, grandsons Mathew Williams and Ryan Williams, great granddaughters Hannah Williams and Sophia Williams. He will also be remembered by his son Michael Gregory, grandsons Max Gregory and Theo Gregory.
Lorne will be cherished and missed by his loving siblings, sisters Gertrude Krowiak of Dugald, MB, Edith Thiordarson of St. Albert, AB, Lois Danyluk ( Tony) of Sherwood Park , AB, Marion Hucul (Bryant) of Winnipeg, MB, Dorothy Kenny (Jim) of Kelowna, BC; brothers Clarence Christie (Isabel) of Dartmouth, NS and Russel Christie (WAnda) of Edmonton, AB.
Lorne also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Lorne will be in our hearts for ever.
Private Celebration of Lorne's Life will be held at a later date.
