Mom passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 95 years. Throughout her life, mom enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, gardening, volunteer work, and travelling. Her fondest memories were her trips overseas to England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. However, it was all the moments spent with her family, particularly when she lived at the lake, that she loved and cherished the most.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth, sisters Marie and Beryl, and her great-grandson Lucas Tatarin and great-granddaughter Ava Brezden.
She is survived by her children Kenneth Poast, Heather Kindret (Jim), Mavis Stokotelny (Don), Maureen Green (Don), Patti Poast, Karen Thompson, and Evelyn Landsborough (Bill); as well as 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with another on the way; nephew Bill Poast (Dianne).
Special thanks to the staff of St. Paul's Home for their excellent care of mom in her final years.
A private service will follow in the late spring/early summer as mom wished.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
"At the close of life, the question will be not how much have you got, but how much have you given; not how much have you won, but how much have you done; not how much have you saved, but how much have you sacrificed; how much you have loved and served, not how much were you honored."
