Linda Marie Hamilton (Chase) was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan on September 17, 1943 to Grace and Fred Chase. She was their second born after Dennis, and Shirley and Ron were to follow. Linda attended school at Ormside, Brush Valley, and Sturgis.
Following high school she worked in Regina with Sasktel, then went to Winnipeg for her LPN training at Saint Boniface. She found a job in Ste. Rose, Manitoba and met her husband Richard Hamilton there. They were married on October 15, 1965. They settled on Richard’s family farm in Ochre River in a newly built home. She continued to work in Ste. Rose at the Gendreau Home while Richard worked on their farm. She later worked as a home care nurse.
Richard and Linda had two children; Lisa Lynn (married Cam Brichon) and David Charles (married Cindy Claeys).
Linda always led an active life. Curling, singing in the church choir, leading Brownies, coaching baseball, quadding, playing bridge and bingo, traveling, cooking, gardening and entertaining friends...Linda enjoyed keeping busy. She was a quilter, an artist and an excellent card player. She loved to laugh and could be a practical joker.
When she and Richard moved to Mountain View Villa in Dauphin, she continued to be an active person, taking part in all activities offered there and eventually taking a board position on the Tenant's Association.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn, her children, grandchildren and many other family and friends.
A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
If friends so desire, donations in Linda's memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
