Les Fulton passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home on January 22, 2024. Les was born in Nanaimo BC on September 21, 1944 to James and Beatrice Fulton.
In 1950 Les and his family moved to Amaranth, Manitoba where he would finish his education. He moved to Winnipeg to work with his dad on the golf courses in 1962. In 1971 he met the love of his life Darlene Stoski at the Fort Garry Curling Club and they were married in November 1973. In May 1977 Les’ job took him to Dauphin Manitoba where he would start a lifelong career as Les’ Painting. Les had an infectious laugh, and could most likely be found at Sticky’s grabbing a coffee between jobs. In March 1983 Les and Darlene welcomed a daughter named Tanya May.
Les loved the outdoors, and would never pass up an opportunity to hit the ice for a day of fishing. Something him and Tanya would spend many days together doing. Les retired from painting in 2009 at the age of 65. In 2015 Les was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and spent the last years of his life in St. Paul’s Personal Care Home where he made many friends.
Les is predeceased by his father James (1982) and Mother Beatrice (1993) brother Robert (2005) and sister in law Myrna (1999). Les is survived by his wife Darlene of 50 years of Dauphin,MB. His daughter Tanya (Tom) Churney and their four daughters Thea, Thessaly, Tenley and Tahlia of Thorold, ON. Brother Lloyd (Thorunn) Fulton of Okotoks, AB. Sister April Buck of Winnipeg, MB. Nephews, Jamie (Val) Fulton of Penticton, BC and Brian Buck of Winnipeg. Nieces Cathy Buck, Roberta Fulton, Barbara (Mike) Sheldon all of Winnipeg. Tammy Mallory (Mike) of Okotoks, AB.
Darlene and Tanya would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Personal Care Home for all their love and care over the past 5 years. At Les’ request there will be no service.
Friends who desire can make a donation in Les’ name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.
